Just came across this article, check it out. A travel writer backpacked across Southeast Asia using the original 1975 Lonely Planet guide. Some interesting information about the origins of Lonely Planet, as well!
I think this is a really cool idea, especially right now living in a country that has been changing so quickly. Decades from now, if I am to come back and visit Daegu/Korea, I wonder just how much of it I will recognize.
